How To Pose To Improve Your Instagram Feed

How To Pose To Improve Your Instagram Feed

Posing is not only for models and having great pictures is possible without a professional photographer, the secret is to practice. I know how frustrating is to take a dozen of pictures, with the perfect outfit and not liking any single one.

I've learned some cool tips working here in Double Icon, and now my Instagram looks prettier and I personally feel more comfortable with my photos. Today I'm sharing with you some poses ideas for you to try below, trust me, this tips would supercharge your Insta feed.

1. Think in TRIANGLES

I know, this might sound bizarre, but believe me, basic geometry is the foundation of good posing technique. Try to pose with your arms, legs, hands and body forming triangles, this will make your photo more flowy and less static.

2. Have something in your hands

“What should I do with my hands?”. I know, it's hard, hands look awkward buuuuut, I have the perfect solution. Grab a prop of some sort to snap a more natural shot that doesn’t feel staged. This can be anything – a coffee, a camera, a book, a dog, a purse...

 3. Play with your Hair

If you’re just expanding your picture poses, this is a great place to begin! Brush your hair back gently from your face or hold a small fraction of your hair. Just this small movement can help you relax when taking pictures and create a more natural look.

4. Have a Seat

Give your pictures a casual/relaxed feel by sitting down! Whether you’re sitting on a curb, chair, or stairs, this can really mix up your feed.

5. Natural light

Taking pictures outdoors might be difficult because we have to adapt to the natural conditions, but you can always use your surroundings on your favor, you just need to practice to see where the light is more flattering.

I hope these posing tips gave you some new ideas for Instagram poses. If it feels intimidating to try these in public, test them out at home first. Set up your camera with a self timer or use a remote to try them out at home. Get comfortable and mix them.

Once you feel more comfortable posing, you’ll find they come natural to you when you are out in public. Try not to worry about what others think and instead focus on the photo you are wanting to capture.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

The Holiday (2006)

Two women troubled with guy-problems swap homes in each other's countries, where they each meet a local guy and fall in love.

The Holiday is the perfect cheesy movie that warms your heart and gives you that comfort feeling we're craving for, great actors and even greater story, this movie is absolutely a MUST during the season.

Love Actually (2003)

Follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England.

Such a hilarious romantic comedy, with a great soundtrack and beautiful love scenes, Love Actually is too cute to skip, if you haven't seen it, you'll love it, we're sure!

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Jingle All the Way (1996)

A father vows to get his son a Turbo Man action figure for Christmas. However, every store is sold out of them, and he must travel all over town and compete with everybody else in order to find one.

Can we talk on how relatable this story is, who didn't ever wanted the trendiest and most impossible gift during the season? This movie is all laughs and funny moments, but also show us that Christmas is not about the presents, but about family and keeping promises.

What is a Good Christmas Party Outfit?

What is a Good Christmas Party Outfit?

There are so many celebrations around the corner and we know you want to look stylish for each of them. With an endless list of events, each requiring a different dress code, picking your Christmas party outfits has never been so exciting.

When it comes to dressing for a Christmas party, there are a wide variety of options, but all should have an element of festive cheer and sparkle!

Festive Christmas Party

If the invite says festive, then you get to have some fun with your outfit. Pick an outfit that suits a cocktail or semi-formal dress code but remember to get something that has a holiday twist to it. This could be as simple as wearing a red dress but of course, the more effort you put into your festive attire, the more you’ll stand out.

Cocktail Christmas Party

The Cocktail Attire dress code calls for an elegant dress. Also, keep in mind that heels are a must. When picking a dress, you’ll have so much to chose from so have fun with it. If you’re unsure of what to choose, a little black dress will be your best friend.

Semi-Formal Christmas Party

Semi formal dress code can be hard to balance. You don’t want to dress formal, but it can also be challenging to downplay your look. For women, the best option is a dress otherwise, a suit will do the trick. Choose something that’s more formal than a cocktail dress but more casual than what you’d wear to a black tie event.

Winter Christmas Outfits

Layer your clothing to stay warm while still looking chic. Remember, every layer has to look fabulous as you might want to take a few off. Get your perfect staple pieces down and then the rest will be easy. Match a cute sweater or turtleneck with a nice pair of trousers, then add killer boots or sophisticated heels.

Red and green are the classic colors of Christmas – but they're hard to pull off without looking like an elf, or a tree! Gold, silver, and white are more wearable and glamorous options for a Christmas outfit, and can be adapted to suit your skin tone.

Tie Dye, Everybody's Favorite 2020 Trend

Tie Dye, Everybody's Favorite 2020 Trend

Tie Dye has become one of the biggest trends this 2020, most likely because tie dying is a fun way to upcycle pieces you have in your closet and spend time during this eternal quarantine.

  • Tie-dye has been around forever, but it's recently made a comeback as one of the biggest fashion trends of 2020.

According to Google, interest in “tie dye loungewear” is up by 5,000 percent since last year. The volume of searches began to spike in March, around the time nationwide quarantine measures were put in place and non-frontline workers began adjusting to the new normal of staying home.

Over on Pinterest, interest in the term "Tie Dye Crafts" has grown 13 times since last June. And, searches for “tie dye at home” have increased by over 462 percent since this time last year, according to Larkin Brown, Pinterest Experience Researcher and In House Stylist.

Even though tie dye has made its mark on the runways for the past few seasons—with Prada, Prabal Gurung, and Stella McCartney's spring 2019 collections and Christian Dior’s spring 2020 collection leading the charge—“Quarantine Fashion” a.k.a. everyone wearing sweatpants—put the trend into overdrive, propelling it into the mainstream, explains Robin Beck Nazarro, O, the Oprah Magazine's Fashion Market Director.

The good news is that you don't have to be crafty to get in on the trend. From loungewear to activewear, all sorts of brands are putting the colorful pattern on their products that will help those who want to ignore the messy dyeing process and head straight to rocking the look.
